Purpose

The SITIOS Map is a non-commercial, educational, and research-based tool that georeferences notable works of architecture in Puerto Rico. It aims to improve public access to historical and archival information preserved at the Archive of Architecture and Construction of the University of Puerto Rico (AACUPR) and other verified sources.

You agree to

  • Use the platform solely for lawful, educational, research, and personal reference purposes.
  • Respect the integrity of the data by not altering, misrepresenting, or redistributing it without proper attribution.
  • Refrain from using SITIOS content for any commercial purposes without prior authorization from the copyright owner.

Intellectual Property

  • All textual, photographic, cartographic content, and design elements on the SITIOS Map and website are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. Most of the images displayed on this platform have been digitized and reproduced with prior authorization from the Architecture and Construction Archive of the School of Architecture (AACUPR). Additionally, images from other cited sources have been used exclusively for academic purposes under the “Fair Use Act,” with proper credit given to their original repository.
  • Reproduction of any image on this platform is not permitted without prior authorization. Anyone interested in reproducing the information or images used on this platform should first verify the copyright status of the documents or images they intend to publish or use.
  • You may share or cite the map’s content only if you provide full and clear attribution to “SITIOS – A Spatial Story of Puerto Rico’s Modernization” and link back to the project site.

Accuracy of Information
